Welcome to the 2015-2016 school year at Shackelford Jr. High! I am so happy to be with you throughout your U.S. History journey this year. Here you will find the information needed to be successful and much more...
Classroom Expectations: Be ON TIME! Be READY! Be RESPECTFUL!
I have three basic rules in my classroom that work to foster a positive classroom experience. My rules focus on the aspect of respect. If you can respect authority, others, and yourself there should be no behavioral issues in my class.
HOW DO I FOLLOW THE CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS?
Be ON TIME: Be seated in your seat before the bell
Be READY: Come to class ready to learn with all of the materials required (HAVE A PENCIL or PEN)
Be RESPECTFUL:
Respect Authority - following instructions the first time that they are given and listen when being spoken to.
Respect Others - no bullying, no picking on peers, listening to others' ideas without putting them down.
Respect Yourself - trying your hardest in any and every situation, coming to school ready to learn.
Along with my three classroom rules I expect my students to follow all school rules as listed in their Shack Attack. I will follow the school wide discipline plan with the use of the infraction log. School rules will be discussed in detail during advisory class.
Grading:
-70% Academic work grade: Class work, Home Work (15%), Participation
-30% Standards based grade: Common Assessments, Campus Based Assessments, Quizzes, Projects, etc.
